Arriving at the international airport from Manila is always an adventure. Normaly it is just chaos, specialy when you are arriving the first time. Just some tips to come to town. Be aware of the "nice guys" straight after the customs. They will offer you a "special price" to town. There are still some office from Taxi Companys after the customs and usually you can get a price around 500 Peso to Ermita (hotel area). Or, from the airport lobby, walk outside and down the ramps to the public taxi stands. Jump in a taxi and head straight out to Manila (the taxi should cost no more than 200 - 250 pesos). You may find someone hanging out in the airport lobby who is also going to Manila, so you could share a taxi. From Manila to the Airport it is quite easy. The taxi should not cost more than 150 Peso and some are running by meter which costs you around 80 Peso from Ermita |

The best rates are in Manila.
There are a lot of money changers on Mabini street, where the rate
is often much better than at the airport (but even there the rates are not
fixed, so shop around 2 or 3 shops to find the best rate).
The Mabini street money changers are honest, but never exchange money
with the guys who approach you on the sidewalk.
They are very good at stealing your cash while doing the exchange.
In Angeles, there are a few money
changers right on the main drag.
They are usually open late (but don’t count on it), and the rates are
nearly similar to the Manila rates.
The Equitable Bank offers cash money at the Philippines with credit card (Eurocard, Master and Visacard) In Sabang the exchange rates are usually worse than anywhere else, but if necessary you can change money anywhere. The best rate you get in Villa Sabang Beach Ressort. Most places will accept cash withdrawls on credit cards for 7% - 10% commission (the dive shop might do it for 5%). |

Normaly it is not a big deal to come to Angeles City (depends of the traffic, about 2 hours up to ???). A taxi from the Airport is around 3000 Peso, from Manila (Ermita) you schould get a taxi around 2000 Peso (thats includes the tollway, but some drivers try to get some extra money) |

Their is a tourist air con bus (Si-Kat) that leaves every morning from in front of City State Tower Hotel. Book a ticket the night before or the morning of (about 600 pesos for the bus and the boat) in the lobby of the City State Tower hotel. Departure time is 9 am, the bus is going to Batangas and connects with a banka, which drops you off in Puerto Galera. From there you can take a small bunka (280 pesos) or a jeepney (10 pesos) to Sabang. There are a lot of local buses going to Batangas (e.g. Jam), take a taxi to their busterminal and you will reach Batangas after 2 1/2 - 3 hours. From Batangas to Puerto Galera / Sabang the boats leaving nearly every hour -> the last one is the VIVA Liner around 5 pm. A Taxi from Manila to Batangas costs you around 2000 Peso To go back to Manila you can do it the same way (Si-Kat), take the banka at 10 am and you will reach Manila around two o'clock pm. The boats leaving also nearly every hour Puerto Galera / Sabang. Just take a bus at Batangas Pier to Manila.
To catch up a taxi to Manila can be difficult
sometimes, because the "nice" porters want to earn also some money, but you
schould get one between 2000 Peso.

The easiest way is to take a taxi from Angeles to Batangas and also the way around. You can stop where ever you want and normaly the cars are quite new. But it is also the expensivest way, the taxi costs you around 4000 Peso and a mini bus is around 4500 Peso. If you have time or you want to stop in Manila have a look to the upper of this site. |
