some airlines demand a visa for a stay of more than 21 days; they could refuse
transportation if you don't have one!!! |

In general, you don't have much to do with customs or immigration offices. If
you stay a maximum of 21 days, you don't need a visa. You get a stamp with the
residence permit for 21 days at your arrival. If you plan to stay longer it
is advisable to get a visa in Europe. You get it at all embassies and consulates.
Bring a photo, a copy of your flight ticket and fill in the application form
you will get. You can also get this form at a travel agency. Visa extensions
on the Philippines can take a long time and can be pretty expensive… and not
only that – you could also discover upon your departure that the extension stamp
is not valid. You still have the possibility to pay a fine at your departure,
but I couldn't find out yet how the friendly officials calculate these. (I have
already seen huge variations…) |
